Webmail is a system whereby you can access your email accounts in your browser window as opposed to using a client like Thunderbird or Outlook. You can access your email from anywhere provided you have access to a web browser.
To access webmail on a cPanel account server, you have two choices.
1. Access your cPanel control panel using the user name and password for cPanel. Under the ‘MAIL’ heading click on the ‘EMAIL ACCOUNTS’ icon. This will display a page which allows you to set up an email account and displays a list of accounts that are currently installed, their ‘USAGE/QUOTA’ and the ability to perform ‘ACTIONS’ like ‘CHANGE PASSWORD’, ‘CHANGE QUOTA’, ‘DELETE’ and then a drop down box labeled ‘More’. Clicking on the ‘MORE’ box will allow you to ‘ACCESS WEBMAIL’ or ‘CONFIGURE EMAIL CLIENT’. Clicking on ‘ACCESS WEBMAIL’ will take you to a page that asks you to put in your password. NOTE: This is not the cPanel password; it is the password you set up for your email account. Enter your password and then choose one of the webmail programs. We prefer Squirrelmail but the choice is yours.
2. The second way to access webmail is to go to http://your-site-address.com/webmail (replace your-site-address.com with your own domain name and add /webmail at the end.) The user name is your FULL email address and the password is the password you set up in cPanel for your email account, NOT your cPanel password. Choose one of the webmail programs.
