It is extremely important that you keep your WordPress installation up to date. This includes all of your plugins as well. There are many security and operational fixes released on a regular basis and it is up to you to keep your site secure. Although many updates are now automatic, it still pays to check periodically (at least once a week).
This tutorial assumes you’ve already logged in to WordPress, and will show you how to update your WordPress installation.
First, you can see which version of WordPress you’re running right here.
Click the Updates link in the left margin.
This is where you go to update your WordPress installation. You should click “Check Again” to make sure your installation is up to date.
